Vehicle Ergonomic Assessment

What is a Vehicle Ergonomic Assessment?

The aim of a Vehicle Ergonomic Assessment (VEA) is to assess the vehicle the employee is using and the employee’s comfort and function within the vehicle, with the aim to address any physical issues they may be experiencing and / or reducing the risk of developing injuries.

What is involved in a Vehicle Ergonomic Assessment?

The assessment takes approximately 60 minutes. We will ask numerous questions about any difficulties you may be having whilst driving or performing tasks in your vehicle. We will then observe your seating position and the tasks you perform in your vehicle.  The assessor with your consent may touch you to discuss posture or when taking measurements to make sure that any adaptations and equipment are appropriate.

What happens after a Vehicle Ergonomic Assessment?

The information within the report will assist the employer to meet its obligations within the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974.  Following the assessment, we provide a report detailing;

  • Subjective and objective findings of the assessment
  • Vehicle information
  • Modifications or adjustments that took place during the assessment
  • Recommendations on reasonable modifications or adjustments to support the employee
  • This allows employers to understand and resolve any relevant issues so If you would like to find out more about this service – Please click here to contact us.
